Switch Blackjack High Roller - Game Guide

A dealer hard 22 pushes all player hands except a natural blackjack.

Switch Blackjack High Roller switches it up to put the odds in your favor by allowing you to exchange cards between two separate hands. You can only switch the top two cards from the first draw between both hands, but Switch Blackjack High Roller still allows you to create two strong hands! The goal is still to get to 21 or to at least have a higher number than the dealer. Face cards count for 10, the Ace can be a 1 or 11, and the dealer still has to stand on 17 but the dealer only has to stand on a “hard” 17.

In Switch Blackjack High Roller, the dealer has to hit on a “soft” 17. Because you’re allowed to switch cards between hands after the first draw, a natural blackjack only pays 1:1 or even money. To make things even, the dealer also wins on a draw and you can’t purchase insurance.

You can bet ten times the minimum, $10, and four times the maximum, $200, in Switch Blackjack High Roller as opposed to Switch Blackjack.

Switch Blackjack High Roller - How to Play

As in any game of Blackjack, the goal is to reach 21 or get as close to 21 as possible without going over. In Switch Blackjack High Roller, you can switch your top two cards between hands. That’s where you get the edge, but the trade-off is that a natural 21 pays even money in Switch Blackjack High Roller and the dealer wins on a tie.

The minimum bet amount in Switch Blackjack High Roller is $10. After making your wager, the dealer deals your first card up while dealing her first card down. Once you’ve received your two cards, you can Stand or Hit. If you hit, you get another card, and you keep getting cards until you are satisfied with the number you’ve got. Remember that if you bust, if you go over 21, you lose.

If you’re closer to 21 than the dealer, though, you win. You don’t get a bonus for hitting a natural 21 in Switch Blackjack High Roller because of the edge that you get with being able to switch cards.

Switch Blackjack High Roller also allows you to switch both of your second cards to give you a more favorable hand. This means you can switch a 5-10 and a J-6 to give you 5-6 and 10-J. No other game allows you to do this.

Switch Blackjack High Roller - Bet Types

There is only one bet per hand in Switch Blackjack High Roller. You can make the minimum bet all the way up to the maximum bet before any cards are dealt. The key is to switch your cards appropriately after the draw to maximize the best chance of winning both hands.

Switch Blackjack High Roller - Strategy/Tips

The strategy in Switch Blackjack High Roller is to create the best possible hands by switching the top two cards. As with other Blackjack games, you should strategize around the upcard, the card that you can see, but in Switch Blackjack High Roller the strategizing starts before you decide to hit or stay. See an example

Dealer’s upcard is a 5 and you have an 8 and your top card is a Jack (10) for one hand and a Queen (10) with your top card a 4 for the other hand.

What you should do in Switch Blackjack High Roller is trade the Jack and 4 so that you have one hand with a Jack and Queen (20) and the other hand with an 8 and 4 (12). You’ve just created an exceptionally strong hand, the Jack and Queen, and you’ve put yourself into the game with the 8 and the 4.
